WE ARE ALL AIRHEADS. In the Ayurveda health system (the oldest health system in the world), originating in the Indian subcontinent more than 2000 years ago. #health it breaks down to 3 mind/body types of what is called DOSHA’S We are all a unique combination of each of the 3 mind/body types of DOSHAS. The AIRHEAD reference was a characteristic of the 1) “VATA DOSHA” The “AIR” DOSHA. (having your head in the clouds, flighty, too much going on, spacey, etc.) 2) “PITTA DOSHA.” show common characteristics of being HOTHEADED (explosive, direct, calculating, etc). 3) KAPHA DOSHA is EARTHY, cool, calm, grounded etc, It is currently reported that about 80% of the population of Nepal & India are heavily using Ayurveda. The goal of the Ayurveda health system is to provide a balance of the mind, body & spirit throughout the seasons. Ayurveda Therapies include herbal medicines, special diets, meditation, yoga, massage, laxatives, enemas and medical oils. I am sharing this brief, basic outline, to peak your interest, and take Ayurveda to the next level. I found Ayurveda fascinating and honestly feel it has value in supporting your health. Let us dig a little deeper, in this vast complex system. The VATA DOSHA, (AIR DOSHA) also shows as creative, filled with ideas, visionary in scope and can get the complexity of the big picture in addition to airheaded, having your head in the clouds, flighty & spacey. A health ailment “having too much VATA” in the mind/body (the AIR DOSHA) is gassy, unsettled stomach, constipation and could show mental duress as anxiety, insomnia & restlessness. The Ayurveda remedy when your mind/body has “too much VATA” is to balance it out with the opposite type foods. The opposite type foods would be warm stews/soups and veggies grown in the ground like beets, carrots, parsnips, turnips, yams. The normal foods, the VATA DOSHA are drawn to (think air) would be salads, smoothies, green juices, which they need to stay away from when exhibiting “too much VATA”. The best category of physical activity would be things like weight lifting and exercises that engage muscle strength.
We are all HOTHEADS! In the Ayurveda health system (the oldest health system in the world), originating in the Indian subcontinent more than 2000 years ago. it breaks down to 3 mind/body types of what is called DOSHA’S We are all a unique combination of each of the 3 mind/body types of DOSHAS. The PITTA DOSHA (FIRE DOSHA) also shows as disciplined, goal driven, efficient, fast, capable, organized in addition to hot headed, Curt, impatient, explosive. A health ailment “having too much PITTA” in the mind/body would be (think FIRE) heartburn, inflammation, hives, even acne. also lashing out, being angry and impatient. The Ayurveda remedy when your mind/body has “too much PITTA” is to balance it out with opposite type foods. The opposite type foods would be cooling foods like salads, Juicy fruits and vegetables, leafy greens, smoothies. The PITTA DOSHA is drawn to spicy foods (shocking!) and coffee/caffeine which need to be avoided when you have “too much PITTA”! The best category of physical activity would be swimming and Yoga.
In the Ayurveda health system (the oldest health system in the world), originating in the Indian subcontinent more than 2000 years ago. it breaks down to 3 mind/body types of what is called DOSHA’S The KAPHA DOSHA (EARTH DOSHA) also shows as moving slow, enjoying their surroundings, tend to meditate, loving in addition to cool, calm, grounded, restorative & connecting. A health ailment “having too much KAPHA” in the mind/body could be feeling heavy, stuck, lack of energy, gaining weight, avoiding exercise, staying away from change and staying away from bringing on new habits. The Ayurveda remedy when your mind/body has “too much KAPHA” is to balance it out with opposite type foods. The opposite type foods would be spicy, stimulating, bold flavorful foods, including the use of spices like cumin, ginger & turmeric. The best category of physical activity would involve movement, cardio, cycling. It is about getting the KAPHA DOSHA out of their comfort zone. #health #energy
